Abstract

This article identifies the Yankee as Americans. The six states of North-Eastern America are known as New England. The states are Connecticut, Main, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Road Island and Vermont. The majority of white people of this region are British. This region is recognized as separate Administrative zone. The inhabitants of this region are Yankee. Several western naval-nations, for colonial and commercial causes, moved towards the Bay-of-Bengal regions in 17th and 18th centuries. The last nation who came here was known as Yankee who was the Merchants from New England in America. In the following year of the independence, at the end of 1784, the Yankee by a trade-ship called United States arrived in the Bay-of-Bengal region. Afterwards, the trade relation between Bengal and USA gradually boosted up. Many of these American Merchants individually became interested in collecting the souvenirs of the ancient civilization. They collected Asian, especially Indian historic, socio-cultural and religious examples and preserved in their personal porches and later built various museums for proper preservation of the pieces. For example, the American Merchants jointly built a Museum on East in the city of Salem in New England, which is at present the biggest American museum for Eastern culture. Its name was Salem East India Marine Museum which is renamed as Peabody Essex Museum at East India Square, Salem. In addition, there are a number of small and big museums and galleries on Bengal in the port cities of New England, set by the contemporary Yankee Merchants. Moreover, a number of archives and other different institutes under some universities specifically in Harvard and Yael University which are still less talked about.
